He organized Predictive Toxicology Conference: Environment, Food and Health in 2016, International Conference on Computational Chemistry and Toxicology in Environmental Science (CCTES) in 2018, and Soil Hydrology and Water Resources Management Modeling Summit in 2022. He is the associate editors of the International Journal of Quantitative Structure-Property Relationships (IJQSPR) and Venoms and Toxins, and the guest editors of the Molecules and Pharmaceuticals. Professor Dr. Chia Ming Chang focuses on computational chemistry and toxicology in environmental science. It aims to study the fate and impacts of chemicals on the environment and human health. He also studies computational chemistry in biological systems to explore protein-ligand and protein-protein interactions. Combining computational chemistry and toxicology with safer green chemistry concepts can help design chemicals with minimal hazard. His current research areas include adsorption, degradation, ecotoxicity (and toxicity), and bioaccumulation (and exposure) in natural and engineered processes. Applying quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) methods and computational chemistry for prediction and interpretation, efforts are made to link the interface between theoretical chemistry and environmental and biological research.
